As a 61-year-old married man, a father and grandfather, I must speak out on the issue of same-sex marriage.

First, I want to drop the term same-sex and talk about marriage.

To me, marriage is about love, sharing and commitment both under God, between the two people in love and all their family and friends that make up their world.

Nothing is more beautiful, and no justifiable reason exists to deny people this opportunity. It’s about love and family. It joins not just the lives of two individuals, but unites the two families in their support network.

I love my wife dearly, and my marriage is not in danger, is not being undermined and is not lessened by allowing others to share what we have.
