BANGOR — Maine’s top federal prosecutor says four Maine men and a timber company have been charged with federal drug offenses stemming from the seizure of nearly 3,000 marijuana plants.
Drug agents in 2009 seized 2,942 pot plants in Township 37 in Washington County, in eastern Maine.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II announced Monday that the following people have now been indicted on drug charges: 50-year-old Malcolm French of Enfield; 48-year-old Rodney Russell of South Thomaston; 55-year-old Kendall Chase of Bradford; and 49-year-old Robert Berg of Dexter.
Prosecutors say Haynes Timberland Inc., a Maine corporation, was charged with managing and controlling property used to manufacture marijuana.
