FARMINGTON — The Western Maine ATV Club, Canton Trail Riders, the Mountain View ATV Club and the Brettun’s Wheelers ATV Club will sponsor the 16th annual Whistle Stop Trail ATV Toy Run Saturday, rain or shine.

Registration will be 8-9:45 a.m. at the end of the Whistle Stop Trail on Town Farm Road. Boys Scouts will sell doughnuts and hot coffee.

The ride will begin at 10 a.m. in West Farmington at the end of the Whistle Stop Trail, then continue to Wilton. A police officer will stop traffic for riders to cross Route 4 and participants will regroup at the Jay Plaza parking area.

A Jay police officer will escort participants over the Memorial Bridge to the trail head leading to Canton. Toys will be left with volunteers from the CAP Agency. Riders will head, single file, into the woods to return to Jay.

Boy Scouts will serve a free barbecue meal at approximately 2 p.m. at Jay Plaza.

Participant must get a meal ticket and register. Donations include gift certificates for local businesses, a helmet, picture portrait sitting, two-night stay at Breezy Acres, free night at Bass Hill Bed-N-Breakfast, gun rack, interior and exterior vehicle cleaning, oil change, shirts and more.
