AUGUSTA — Excavators Thursday morning tore down the Augusta Spiritualist Church, at the corner of Court and Perham streets, to make way for the expansion of Kennebec County court complex.

Members are currrently meeting at the Buker Center while a new church is being built on Townsend Road, according to Theresa Clifford, the church president.
