SKOWHEGAN — One hundred and five Special Olympics Maine athletes will converge on the Skowhegan Fair grounds today for the 15th annual State Equestrian Competition.

Athletes will compete in Showmanship, English and Western Equitation, Driving, Working Trails, Unified relays, and Speed Barrels. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Special Olympic Athletes from Somerset County along with members of Good Sam will run a concession stand throughout the day, according to a news release.

Equestrian Teams include Black Horse Equestrian Riders, Solon; East Ridge Stables, Charleston; Wquine Journeys, Durham; Frank Beckett Center, Calais; Friendship Stables, Augusta; Healing Horses, Bowdoin; Lazy W Stables Inc., Bucksport; Momentum/Riding to the top, Casco; Pendragon Farm, Cornville; Saddleview Farm, Rangeley; Salls Equito Therapeutic Center, Chesterville; and West Street USA, Gardiner.
