The town of Winslow has recently mailed the new property tax bills to all property owners.

The bill has a new feature: All taxpayers can now split their tax payments into four quarterly payments. This feature is a huge help in these stressful economic times, particular for our seniors.

Thus, it is time for a public thank you to former Winslow town councilor Roland Michaud, who served the town for some four decades.

Michaud’s final proposal to the town council was the above four-payment plan, rather than the previous two-payment arrangement. This bill is the first time Winslow taxpayers can see the change.

The change now becomes part of Michaud’s legacy of doing all he could to help Winslow citizens.
