    HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Waterville’s Brown wins Festival

    BELFAST -- Waterville's Bethanie Brown was the only runner to break 18 minutes in winning the Maine Cross Country Festival of Champions girls race Saturday at Troy Howard Middle School. Brown finished the 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 56.69 seconds, more than half a minute ahead of Jillian Forsey of Stephenville, Newfoundland. Erzsebet Nagy of Lawrence High School place third in 18:33.67 followed by Samantha Cox of Bonny Eagle and Brittany Bowman of Camden Hills.
