With the national campaign receiving so much media attention, it might be easy to forget how important local elections are.
Decisions made in the Maine Legislature affect our community directly, so we should take a hard look at the candidates. We need someone who can look at the issues from a different point of view with an openness to new ideas.
I have served with Matt Pouliot on the board of directors for the Augusta Downtown Alliance, the KV Chapter of Junior Achievement and in the Augusta Rotary Club.
He is a passionate, effective and dedicated leader, and I’d like to see him bring his energy and talents to the State House.
We have everything to gain by putting our support behind Matt. His fresh ideas and can-do attitude are just what we need. I hope others will join me in supporting Pouliot, Republican candidate for House District 57.
