GARDINER — Olivia Reny scored on a breakway with 2 minutes, 49 seconds left in the first overtime to lift Gardiner to a 2-1 win against Old Town in an Eastern Maine Class B tournament prelim game Saturday.

Reny broke ahead of the defense and took a pass from LeeAnne Greenleaf en route to her game-winner. Reny scored Gardiner’s first goal, puttng in a rebound of a penalty corner in the first half. The Coyotes tied the game in the second half when Joci St. Jean poked in a rebound.

The teams each had 11 shots on goal and both goalies, Gardiner’s Olvia Philbrook and Old Town’s Erica Ogden, made nine saves. The Tigers held a 17-12 advantage in penalty corners. Ninth-seeded Old Town finishes at 9-5-1 while No. 8 Gardiner (10-5-0) advances to play top-seeded Belfast in a quarterfinal game Wednesday. The Tigers handed the Lions their only loss this season.

Boys soccer

Gardiner 2, Morse 0: Daniel Del Gallo and Josh Caldwell scored unassisted goals as the Tigers beat the Shipbuilders in a KVAC B game in Augusta.

Ian Lane had nine saves to earn the win for Gardiner (2-10-1).

Duane Tardiff had one save for Morse (4-10-).

Football

Freeport 52, Winthrop 30: Dan Burke rushed for 204 yards, caught a touchdown pass, ran in a pair of two-point conversions and had an interception to lead the Falcons (4-3) past the visiting Ramblers (2-5).

Jared Polley added 72 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and Ben MacMillan also had two rushing touchdowns for Freeport, which took a 21-0 lead.

Dexter 19, Kents Hill 14: Justin Smith threw a 99-yard touchdown pass with about two minutes left in the game to lift Dexter at Cornish Field in Brookline, Mass.

Nelkas Kwemo rushed for 70 yards and also returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown for the Huskies (0-4).

Tim Swaby rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown for Kents Hill as well.

Dexter improved to 2-2.
