We write to support Rep. Sharon Treat, Democratic candidate for House District 79.

We are retired teachers who each have worked for 40 years, in public schools and nonprofit programs.

Treat has proven to be an intelligent, dedicated, approachable, civil and well-educated leader.

She has dedicated herself to a host of issues, all of which are key to Maine’s long-term concerns. Her stance on issues regarding education, health care reform, trade, small business support, job training and sensible budgeting make sense to us.

Treat attends West Gardiner town meetings and listens to concerned residents; we talk frequently.

Treat will continue to make a difference as she advocates for what she has researched, believes and knows.

An experienced, committed leader is best for our district.

To those who stamp inaccurate labels to her work, we say, “Educate yourself.”

Treat offers the clear thinking that Maine needs, hands down.
