BRUNSWICK — Jordan Whitney and the Mt. Blue football team continue to roll.

Whitney threw five touchdown passes — all in the first half — to lead the Cougars to a 42-13 win over Morse in a Pine Tree Conference Class B game Saturday at Brunswick High School.

“Whitney was on fire,” Mt. Blue coach Gary Parlin said. “He was very much on target.”

Nate Backus caught two touchdown passes for the Cougars (7-0), who can clinch the top seed and home-field advantage for the playoffs with a win over Waterville (4-3) on Friday.

Kindle Bonsall, Nick Hyde and Chad Luker also caught touchdown passes.

“We actually were kind of sloppy today,” Parlin said. “It’s hard to complain in 42-13 game, but we’ll have to be a lot more focused for Waterville.”

Washington improved to 3-4.
