CLINTON, N.Y. — Caitlin Murray scored midway through the second half to snap a 1-1 game and help lift the Colby field hockey team past Hamilton 2-1 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game Sunday afternoon.

Courtney Erskine also scored for the Mules (5-7), who outshot Hamilton 27-5. Erskine and Murray each had assists. Michelle Burt had three saves for Colby, which earned its first NESCAC victory.

Aubrey Coon scored the lone goal for the Continentals (0-12).

UMF 4, Colby-Sawyer 0: Emma Daniel scored two goals to lead the Beavers to the North Atlantic Conference victory in New London, N.H.

Kaitlyn Bullen and Chelsey Morley also scored for UMF, which outshot Colby-Sawyer 20-2. Annie Agnew, Mara Balboni and Morley also had assists for UMF (6-6). Curran Brierley made just two saves to earn the shutout.

Colby-Sawyer dropped to 5-6.

Castleton 4, Thomas 3: The Spartans scored three second-half goals to erase a 3-1 deficit and earn the NAC victory.

Blake Wardwell, Kealy Chipman and Maria Stern scored in a 17-minute span of the second half to carry the Spartans (12-2, 7-0).

Brittany Premo scored two goals and Miranda Tinsman added another to pace the Terriers (5-9, 3-5). Michelle Greene had an assist and Jasmine Bishop had 22 saves.

UNH 4, Maine 3 (OT): Nicky Graham scored on a breakaway about eight minutes into overtime to lift the Huskies in an America East game played at UNH in Durham, N.H.

Northeastern led 3-1 before Maine (9-7) rallied with a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes of regulation to force overtime. Holly Stewart and Hannah Keating scored about nine minutes apart to pull Maine even.

Crystal Poland and Caroline Judge also scored for Northeastern (11-3).

Women’s soccer

Maine 2, UNH 1: Lisa Bijman and Maddie Hill scored second-half goals to lift the Black Bears to the America East victory in Orono.

Maine (7-6-2) trailed 1-0 at the half. Bijman also had an assist.

Kirstyn Corder scored the lone goal for the Wildcats (5-9-2).

Hamilton 2, Colby 0: Alex Rimmer and Charlotte Cosgrove scored in the first and second halves, respectively, to lift the Continentals (8-3-1) at Love Field in Clinton, N.Y.

Liza Gergenti made four saves to earn the shutout.

Emily Brook had 12 saves for the Mules (7-5-0).

UMF 3, Maine-Machias 0: UMF extended its shutout streak to three games with the victory. The Beavers (9-5-1) have outscored opponents 13-0 in their last three games.

The Clippers dropped to 9-4-0.

Men’s soccer

Hamilton 2, Colby 0: Hennie Bosman and Anthony Balbo each scored a goal to lead the Continentals to the NESCAC win in Clinton, N.Y. Brian Whiston added an assist for Hamilton. Eric Boole made five saves.

Cody Funkhouser stopped one shot for the Mules (3-7-2, 0-6-2).

Also Sunday: Lawrence graduate Jess Poulin stopped two shots as Husson defeated Green Mountain College 2-0 in women’s soccer action. Also in the game Maranacook graduate Hannah Clough had an assist for the Eagles.
