WINSLOW — Staff from Maine’s nonprofit, investigative journalism news service will talk about the importance of investigative journalism in a democracy and give a presentation about a new program to help citizens find out more about their public officials.

The presentation by the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Winslow Public Library.

The multimedia presentation, “Be Your Own Watchdog,” will include a demonstration and a question and answer session. The program will identify how public officials raise the money for their campaigns, where they get their money from and what they do with it.
