WINTHROP — Winthrop High School moved its football game against Old Orchard Beach to tonight in advance of a forecast that calls for rain Friday night.

The Ramblers (2-5) and Seagulls (5-2) kill kick off tonight at 7 at Maxwell Field.

“Our field is all literally all dirt,” Winthrop coach Joel Stoneton said. “It isn’t so much the rain as it is we were worried somebody was going to get hurt.”

Winthrop has lost two straight to fall out of Western C Campbell Conference playoff hunt. OOB is seventh in Crabtree points, which determine playoff positioning. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.
