DRESDEN — A driver was able to walk away Friday morning after her car went off the road on Route 128 near Perkins Road and landed in a shallow stream, according the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.
Emergency dispatch responded to a call around 8 a.m. about a car going off the road.
Maj. Ken Mason, of the sheriff’s department, who responded to the scene, said the driver went off the road because of a medical issue. The driver, whom police did not identify, was alone in the car.
The sheriff’s department and Dresden Fire and Rescue responded with assistance from the Wiscasset Fire Department, Mason said. Firefighters helped the woman out of the car, and she was able walk through the water to dry land without assistance, he said.
Mason didn’t know whether the woman suffered any injuries but said she “probably had some bumps and bruises.”
