Two articles in the paper on Oct. 22 were about child abuse and one about domestic violence. These are issues I care about. One of the reasons for these problems is lack of education.
I used to think that being a mother or father just came natural. Not any more.
Our young people have to be taught about parenting. This will happen with a change in our curriculum.
These changes need not cost a lot of money. We have changed our curriculum to include diversity and bullying, now we need to add anger management, conflict resolution and stress management.
Our communities need to come together when these young parents need support from other people, or a place to go when they need help. We cannot wait on these issues. The need is now.
