WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Rickey Stevens had 125 total yards and Marcus Wasilewski passed for 191 yards and three touchdowns to lead the University of Maine football team to a 24-10 win over William and Mary on Saturday afternoon.

Maine jumped out to a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter and held on for the win to improve to 3-5 overall, 2-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Wasilewski got Maine on the board with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Maurice McDonald with 10:20 left in the first quarter. The play completed a 9-play 74-yard drive for the Black Bears.

Sean Decloux kicked a 31-yard field goal with just under two minutes left in the quarter as Maine pushed its lead to 10-0. Then Wasilewski threw his second touchdown pass of the game, this time a 12-yard strike to Damarr Aultman with 11:30 left in the second quarter.

The Tribe (2-6, 1-4 in the conference) got on the board when Raphael Ortiz threw a 26-yard TD pass to Sean Balalrd later in the second quarter. William and Mary cut the lead to seven at the beginning of the fourth quarter then John Carpenter kicked a 32-yard field goal, but Maine responded with a 10-play, 75-yard drive. The Black Bears ended the drive when Aultman caught a 3-yard TD pass from Wasilewski.

Jamal Clay sealed the win for Maine when he intercepted a tipped pass with just over four minutes left.
