GARDINER — The city will honor Clarence McKay, who served as chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission for nearly two decades, during a ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall Council Chambers, 6 Church St.

A Gardiner native, McKay was a Kennebec Journal photographer before his retirement. In addition to his service on the historic board, he is active in his church, St. Joseph Catholic Church.

McKay will be presented with a plaque for his long and faithful service. The ceremony will coincide with a City Council meeting at 7 p.m.
