Incumbent Dennis Keschl, R-Belgrade, defeated Pamela Boivin, D-Manchester, 2,964 votes to 2,362 Tuesday in the race for House District 83.
Keschl took two of the district’s five towns, winning in Belgrade 1,247 to 595 and in Mount Vernon 492-422.

Boivin won in Fayette 373-326, Manchester 786-749 and Vienna 186-150.
Keschl, 65, is a retired state worker and former Belgrade town manager who served two years on the Appropriations Committee. He believes in smaller government and said he’d like to help restore the public’s trust in government.
