Incumbent Dean Cray, R-Palmyra, defeated Daniel S. Swain, D-Canaan, by a 2,814 to 1,655 vote Tuesday in the race for House District 28.
Cray won in Cornville 337-302, Hartland 601-211, in Palmyra 793-233, and in St. Albans 720-308. Swain won in the district’s other community of Canaan 601-363.
Cray, 54, is a three-term incumbent and said the biggest obstacle facing small businesses in Maine is the high cost of electricity. He said the state should make it easier for companies to generate and deliver low-cost power.
