In the race for District 1 on the board of the Somerset County Commissioners former commission Chairman Phil Roy, of Fairfield, defeated incumbent Gerald York, also of Fairfield, 2,436 to 2,316.
Roy won in every town in the district. He won in Fairfield 1,494 to 1,458, Norridgewock 714-644 and Smithfield 228-214.
In District 2 incumbent Robert Dunphy led H. Ralph Withee 1,219 to 863 with results in Wednesday from all but New Portland.
Dunphy won in Anson 544-517, in Embden 308-166, in Highland Plantation 70-29, in Madison 1,149 to 834 and in Mercer 180-124.
Withee won in Starks 155-109.
