Democratic incumbent Sharon Treat has defeated William Guerrette III 54 percent to 46 percent in House District 79, representing Farmingdale, Hallowell and West Gardiner.

Treat, 56, has served in the Legislature for 20 of the last 22 years as representative and senator, while Guerrette, 28, has spent last four years managing Sun Tan City’s 18 locations in Maine and New Hampshire owned by his father and two uncles.
Treat, lives with her partner, Robert Collins, in Hallowell. Guerrette lives in West Gardiner with his wife, Vanessa, and 10-month-old son, Willie IV.
