Shannon Bubier covers her eyes Thursday while observing waves on Maranacook Lake in Winthrop.  Gusts of wind up to 30 mph buffeted people across Maine as a nor’easter washed across the state. A self-described “weather nut,” Bubier said the temperature was “freezing” in the gusts coming across the lake.
