* April 2008: Fired from his job as an assistant state attorney general, where he served as state’s top drug-crimes prosecutor.

* Feb. 11, 2009: Indicted by a federal grand jury on 16 counts of transporting, receiving and possessing child pornography between July 2006 and January 2008.

* Aug. 23, 2010: Convicted of 13 counts of transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography.

* March 11, 2011: Sentenced to 16 years in prison.

* Aug. 11, 2011: Released from prison after the First Circuit Court of Appeals suggests that a change in law generated “exceptional reasons why (Cameron’s) detention would not be appropriate.”

* Nov. 14, 2012: At 3:24 p.m., the First Circuit Court of Appeals releases its decision upholding seven of 13 convictions including transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography. That afternoon Cameron visits his ex-wife, Barbara Cameron, and their teenage son in Hallowell. Cameron tells his son he is going back to prison.

* 8:05 p.m., Cameron arrives at his Rome home.

* 8:33 p.m., Cameron uses his laptop computer to view the Internet for the final time.

* Nov. 15, 2012: At 12:46 a.m., the location monitoring device Cameron is required to wear indicates an unauthorized departure from the home.

* 1:30 a.m., the location monitoring device attempted to connect with the monitoring center to transmit activity information and was unable to do so, resulting in a “missed call entry in the device log.”

* 1:47 a.m., federal probation officers receive a report of the missed call and try to call him on his home and cellphones. There is no answer.

* Between 7 and 8 a.m., probation officers again try to reach Cameron via telephone. There is again no answer.

* 10:30 a.m., probation officers and the Maine State Police visit Cameron’s Rome home. He and his vehicle are gone. Cameron’s cellphone is found inside the house, but the laptop computer is gone.
