PITTSFIELD — State Rep. Ken Fredette recently toured the Sebasticook Valley Health construction site with SVH President/CEO Victoria Alexander-Lane, SVH CIO Michael Peterson, and construction management from Cianbro Corp. The construction is for the inpatient expansion at the hospital, which is slated for completion in 2013.

Representing District 25, which includes Corinna, Exeter, Newport, Plymouth and part of Corinth, Fredette commended SVH for partnering with its Pittsfield neighbor, Cianbro, to keep local people working in good jobs.

According to a press release, the inpatient expansion is one part of a complete hospital expansion, with revenue generated from each phase of construction to pay in part for future phases of construction. Explained Ms. Alexander-Lane in the release, “we worked tirelessly with the architects to plan this expansion with attention to cost and future benefit. In the end, we are building exactly what this hospital needs to care for patients now and years from now.”

Following the tour, Fredette toured the hospital, visiting the newly constructed and refurbished areas, like the new emergency department waiting area, CT scan suite, and infusion service area.

The tour also included visits to other recently constructed areas like specialty services, women’s health, and peri-operative services.
