SOUTH PORTLAND — A busy Black Friday at the Maine Mall was briefly interrupted when a fight broke out among five people about an hour after businesses opened for the day.

Two teens were arrested after police broke up the fight around 1:15 a.m. Friday in the area of the Foot Locker. Three others involved in the fight left as police arrived, said South Portland Police Lt. Todd Bernard.

Bernard said he did not know what led to the fight.

Mohamud Mohamed, 18, who did not have a home address, was charged with disorderly conduct and violating conditions of release from a previous arrest. Steeve Alphonse, 18, of Cambridge, Mass., was charged with disorderly conduct.

Both were taken to Cumberland County Jail and released early Friday.

Bernard said officers also dealt with several shoplifters and a man who passed out in the lingerie section of Macy’s. He was asked to move along.
