Portland Pirates rookie goalie Mark Visentin was named AHL Player of the Week after stopping 87 of 89 shots in two games last week.

Last Wednesday night, Visentin stopped 48 shots, a season high for a Portland goalie, to lead the Pirates to a 2-1 win against the Providence Bruins.

Last Saturday night, he stopped 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 win against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
