FARMINGTON — The Western Maine Cash Coalition is celebrating its 11th anniversary of annual tax preparation. This year’s kickoff will be noon-1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Bangor Savings Bank. Free food will be available while coalition representatives, legislators and community members talk about the positive impact of Cash Maine on Greater Franklin County.
Free tax preparation will begin Thursday, Jan. 24. Appointments will continue through Saturday, March 23. The tax site will be open 5:30-8 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays on the third floor of Roberts Learning Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. While walk-ins will be served as time permits, please schedule an appointment to ensure tax preparer availability. To make an appointment, call 491-4259.
