WATERVILLE — The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program recently announced the Somerset Explorer public bus service is now in service.

The bus provides service in Skowhegan, Madison, Anson and Norridgewock and operates Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The service builds on the Kennebec Explorer public bus system in the Greater Augusta-Waterville area.

The bus follows a regularly scheduled route and is open to the general public. Fares cost $1 within one community and $1.25 between towns. The bus is handicapped accessible. Service is available to people near the bus route by calling 859-2501 in advance to schedule a stop when the bus is in their area.
