WATERVILLE — The Greater Waterville Exchange Club recently honored Chief Joseph Massey in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year program. Massey’s 35-year law enforcement career began with the Oakland Police Department. He was hired by the Waterville Police Department in 1987 and promoted to police chief in 2007.

He is also an associate professor at Thomas College.

Massey was recognized for his efforts to deliver the highest quality of public safety services to the citizens of Waterville.

He has been married to his wife Anne for 35 years and has four sons and seven grandchildren.
