WATERVILLE — Diana Manduca surpassed the 1,000-point plateau for her career in the Colby College women’s basketball team’s 60-54 loss to the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Manduca made a 3-pointer with 2 minutes, 55 seconds left in the game to reach 1,000 points. She finished with a team-high 17 points and made five of her eight 3-point attempts. Manduca recently went over 300 career assists as well, and becomes the 16th player in Colby women’s basketball history to reach 1,000.

Brooke Chandor finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Colby (7-12). Jacky McLaughlin chipped in 10 points.

New Hampshire 61, Maine 54: Cari Reed and Kaylee Kilpatrick each had 16 points as the Wildcats beat the Black Bears in an America East game in Durham, N.H.

Corrine Wellington had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Liz Wood chipped in 12 points for Maine (2-19, 1-7 in the conference). Courtney Anderson and Ashleigh Roberts each had 10 for Maine.

Men’s basketball

Bowdoin 93, Thomas 43: The Polar Bears made 14 3-pointers on their way to a non-conference win over the Terriers in Brunswick.

Andrew Madlinger ahd 23 points, including five 3-pointers for Bowdoin (12-6). Matt Mathias added 17 points and five 3-pointers.

Adam Carlsen had nine points off the bench for Thomas (8-9).

Southern Maine 70, Colby 50: The Huskies had 18 steals on their way to a non-conference win over the Mules in Waterville.

Conor Sullivan had 12 points and three assists for USM (13-7).
Sam Wilson and Ryan Jann both had 12 points and seven rebounds for Colby (6-13).

Men’s hockey

Colby 2, UNE 2, OT: Junior Ben Chwick scored with 5.9 seconds left in regulation as the Mules earned a tie in Biddeford.

Also Tuesday: Lawrence High School graduate Brooks Spaulding and Richmond graduate Mark Zaharchuk each had nine points in the Husson College men’s basketball team’s 81-52 loss to Bates in Lewiston.
