AUGUSTA — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is joining the Maine Association of Nonprofits at Maine Nonprofit Day at the State House. Nonprofit Day provides an opportunity for nonprofits and government to assert their commitment to working together in order to creatively, efficiently and effectively serve the people of Maine.

The 10th Annual Nonprofit Day takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Hall of Flags at the State House in Augusta.

There are many challenges facing both the Governor and the legislature this year. Maine’s safety net programs need to be solid and help the working families from falling through the cracks.

The 2013 Nonprofit Day at the State House showcases Maine’s essential nonprofit sector and its commitment to work with the state government to restructure the system in a thoughtful way.

Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is pleased to have been selected to participate in the annual event sponsored and hosted by the Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP). The exhibiting nonprofit organizations are: A Company for Girls, Bagaduce Music Lending Library, Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance, Community Partners, The Community Schools at Opportunity Farm in Camden, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Good Will-Hinckley, Maine Association of Nonprofits, Maine Summer Camps, Senior Plus, United Cerebral Palsy of Maine and Western Maine Community Action, Inc.
