PORTLAND — Austin Moore scored a power-play goal 2 minutes, 12 seconds into overtime to lift the Gardiner Area High School boys hockey team to a 2-1 win over Cape Elizabeth at the Portland Ice Arena on Thursday.

Hunter Belanger and Alex Nadeau assisted on the goal.

Seth Wing also scored for Gardiner (4-7-1) while Brad Moore had 25 saves.

Brandon Negele scored for Cape Elizabeth (5-8-1).

Girls basketball

Gardiner 60, Lincoln 47: Ally Day had 18 points, nine rebounds and six steals as the Tigers earned a Kennebec Valley  Athletic Conference Class B win in Newcastle.

Kelly Macomber added six points, eight rebounds and eight blocks for Gardiner (11-4). Taylor Bannister and Rachel Quirion both had nine points.

Boys basketball

Dirigo 70, Monmouth 40: Riley Robinson had 16 points as the Cougars won a Mountain Valley Conference game in Monmouth.

Gavin Arsenault and Hunter Ross each added eight points for Dirigo (15-1).
Drew McFarren had 15 points for Monmouth (6-10).

Oak Hill 49, Carrabec 33: The Raiders outscored the Cobras 22-12 in the third quarter en route to the MVC win in Wales. Parker Aselin scored seven of his team-high 13 points in the third while Derek Gamage grabbed nine rebounds. Oak Hill is 6-10, Carrabec is 0-16.

Hall-Dale 61, Mountain Valley 56, OT:
Michael Woods scored 9 of his 21 points in the overtime period as the Bulldogs earned a key Mountain Valley Conference game in Farmingdale.

Wesley Lapointe hit a pair of free throws to send the game into overtime for Hall-Dale (10-6). Lapointe finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Brian Allen added nine points and 12 rebounds.
Jake Therriault scored 19 points for Mountain Valley (13-3).
