WATERVILLE — The 20th annual Polar Bear Dip and Fire and Ice Cook-Off is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the outdoor pool at the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville

In collaboration with Maine Restaurant Week, restaurants from all over Central Maine will bring a tasty version of fire while supporters brave the icy water.

The Cubby Bear Dip, for ages 1-12, will begin at 11 a.m. at the Alfond Youth Center. Cubby Bears will dip into the indoor pool and prizes will be awarded for the best cannon balls in each age group.

To register, complete a registration form at the front desk at the Alfond Youth Center or download a form at ayc4me.org.

Tickets to partake and vote in the Fire and Ice Cook-Off cost $5 per person or $10 per family (registered Polar Bear Dippers receive a complimentary ticket).

All proceeds will benefit the Kids Kitchen.
