A few hundred central Maine people were still without power Friday night as the area recovered  from wind and heavy rain on Thursday that closed part of Route 4 and left more than 111,000 people without power.

Central Maine Power Co. reported Friday evening that crews had restored power to almost all homes and businesses that lost it during Thursday’s storm.

CMP reported that 12 customers in Somerset County, 13 in Waldo County, 182 in Lincoln County and 193 in Sagadahoc County were without power at 6:55 p.m.

The company estimated that most of those would have power by the end of the night.

A bridge connecting Madrid and Rangeley on Route 4 that was closed Thursday because of a jam caused by melting ice, reopened Friday, according to the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency.

The National Weather Service said wind gusted to 63 mph in Bath, 57 mph in Turner, 54 mph in Augusta and 49 mph in Portland during the storm. Offshore, it hit 74 mph at Matinicus Rock.
