Let’s talk about Chris Christie, the outspoken governor of New Jersey. He once told a voter who questioned his sending his children to a private school that it was none of her business where he sent his children.
We all know Jersey was hard hit by superstorm Sandy a couple of months ago and the president went to offer his help. Christie welcomed his help and was very thankful. He knows, as does the president, that people who need help are not Republicans or Democrats, but Americans.
A few years ago, our governor said he would tell the president to go home if he visited Maine. Even worse when Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, was willing to come and discuss the Affordable Health Care Act, our governor said, “No thanks.”
This says a lot about the Republican Party and our governor, but fortunately in a free society like ours we can and do vote.
