WINDSOR — Two local state lawmakers plan to host a community forum on the state budget at 6 p.m. March 6 at Windsor Town Hall, the House Democratic Office announced Wednesday.

Rep. Lori Fowle, D-Vassalboro, and Sen. Chris Johnson, D-Somerville, have organized the forum.

“Each line of this budget affects every one of us in some way, and having plenty of input from voters will help all of us in Augusta find common ground and arrive at a common-sense solution,” Fowle said in a prepared statement.

The $6.2 billion, two-year budget proposed by Gov. Paul LePage cuts human services funding, suspends revenue sharing payments for cities and towns for two years and targets two property tax relief programs to those 65 and older. Lawmakers are expected to hold public hearings on the budget in the coming weeks.
