How are Gov. Paul LePage’s budget cuts not a tax increase?

To make up the difference of his cuts, municipalities are looking at having to raise regressive property taxes instead.

Since the state of Maine does not want to shoulder its share of running this state, then municipalities should not have to follow unfunded mandates set by the state. This includes any measures or statutes imposed by the state on local school districts and municipalities that will require increased funding by local entities.

It’s all about taxation without representation.
