FARMINGTON — A pond construction and maintenance workshop will be offered 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 2, in room C23 at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The workshop will be led by Candi Gilpatric, a civil engineer for more than 20 years with the Maine Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Bobby Van Riper from Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Each participant will leave with their own “Ponds — Planning, Design, Construction” handbook and a certificate of participation, plus new knowledge about ponds.

Pre-registration is required by April 1. Cost is $20 through March 20 and $25 after that date. Registration forms can be picked up at 107 Park St., and are available online at franklincswcd.org.
