SIDNEY — Voters will consider the purchase of three vehicles and a $1.4 million budget, up 2.2 percent from 2012, on Saturday at the annual Town Meeting.

Residents have the option of raising $215,000 to buy the trucks this year or set aside $25,000 this year for a future purchase of the trucks, according to town administrative assistant Sheila Thorne.

The three trucks are a $95,000 rescue vehicle and two trucks for the Public Works Department costing $100,000 and $20,000.

The highway trucks would be used as plow trucks and for road work, Thorne said. The rescue truck would function like an ambulance.

Thorne said any change in the property tax rate will depend on the school district and county budgets.

The current property tax rate is $10.65 per $1,000 of assessed value.
