JACKMAN — A woman injured in a snowmobile accident Sunday is now in good condition, a spokeswoman for Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor said on Tuesday.

Rayeann Milliken, 22, of Jackman, was taken to the hospital Sunday night by LifeFlight helicopter after she lost control of the snowmobile she was driving on Loop Road, according to Game Warden Andrew Smart.

A previous story incorrectly reported the number of snowmobile accidents with injuries in Jackman this winter.

Jackman-Moose River Fire Chief Bill Jarvis said there have been more accidents resulting in injuries this year and that there were five accidents in which the fire department had to use a rescue sled to carry injured snowmobilers.

Most snowmobilers who get injured in accidents either take themselves in for treatment or rely on someone with them to take them to medical treatment, he said.
