WATERVILLE — Thirty six Mid-Maine Technical Center students recently competed in 24 competitions at the SkillsUSA Championships. The competitions were hosted by Eastern Maine Community College and United Technology Center in Bangor. More than 600 students representing 23 career and technical schools throughout the state participated. The championship is sponsored annually by the Maine Chapter of SkillsUSA. The Gold Medal winner will represent Maine in the National SkillsUSA Championships, set for June 24-28, in Kansas City, Mo.
State gold medalist: Gregory Manocchio, precision machining technology, Winslow.
State silver medalist: Cailyn Gordon, first aid/CPR, Messalonskee.
State bronze medalists: team Kyle Gravel/Myles Welsh, television (video) production, Winslow; Kelsey Marcia, medical math, Waterville Alt.; Blake Philbrick, precision machining technology, Messalonskee.
