AUGUSTA — A Mount Vernon woman has been charged after reportedly crashing her sport-utility vehicle into two utility poles on Hospital Street.

Megan M. Moone, 22, was charged with operating under the influence, according to Augusta Police.

Officers questioned Moone around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after she crashed her 2005 Jeep Liberty near the Maine State Police Troop D barracks on Hospital Street. Augusta Police Sgt. Christopher Shaw said Moone hit one utility pole, missed the next one and hit a third before coming to a stop.

Moone was not injured in the crash but the Jeep was destroyed, Shaw said.
