PORTLAND — Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen will be among 10 people inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame next month.
Cohen, a U.S. senator before he served as defense secretary under President Bill Clinton, will be honored at the organization’s annual banquet at the Augusta Civic Center on May 5.
A Bangor native, Cohen was a standout basketball and baseball player at Bangor High School. He also played basketball at Bowdoin College.
Other inductees at the banquet will be Douglas Brown, Rickey Craven, Paula Doughty, Gary Fifield, Skip Robinson, Bob Russo, Paul Vachon, Manchester Wheeler and John Wolfgram.
