GARDINER — Josh Mashke hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Gardiner baseball team came back to win after allowing five runs in the top of the sixth, beating Maranacook 7-6 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.

Gardiner (2-2) led 5-1 in the top of the sixth inning before Maranacook (1-3) rallied. In the seventh for Maranacook, Tucker Whitman had an RBI double, Jason Brooks a two-run single and Matt Delmar a sacrifice fly as the Black Bears took a 6-5 lead.

Whitman had a double and a single, while Jason Brooks had two singles and Cam Brochu a solo home run for Maranacook.

Jensen Orewiler had two singles and a double for Gardiner. Zach Farrin picked up the win in relief of Josh McKelvey, who struck out eight in six innings.

Monmouth 8, Mountain Valley 3: Alex Curtis had three singles and drove in three runs to lead the Mustangs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Monmouth.

Brandon Goff had two hits and Billy Cummings had an RBI single to lead Monmouth (3-0) as well. Nate Gagne earned the victory, allowing one run in four innings.

Colin Merrill had two singles and an RBI to lead Mountain Valley (1-2).

Oxford Hills 5, Cony 4, 9 innings: The Vikings scored a run in the top of the seventh to tie it then won it with a run in the top of the ninth, beating the Rams in Augusta.

Oxford Hills (4-1) took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth before Cony (2-2) tied it with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Zach Lachance had a pair of doubles and pitched eight innings for Cony. Chandler Shostak hit a home run for the Rams.

Dalton Rice pitched seven innings, striking out 10 and walking three for Oxford Hills.

Dirigo 1, Hall-Dale 0: T.J. Frost scored on a passed ball in the first inning as the Cougars won a pitchers’ duel in MVC action in Dixfield.

Frost also had the only hit of the game for Dirigo (3-0) when he doubled in the sixth inning.

Bobby Cumler took the loss for Hall-Dale (1-2) despite allowing just one hit and two walks. He walked two batters in the first inning, then was perfect until Frost doubled in the sixth. He finished with seven strikeouts.

Kaine Hutchins matched Cumler, allowing just a third inning single to Nat Crocker. He finished with 11 strikeouts and one walk.

Winthrop 12, Telstar 1, 5 innings: Drew Stratton and Jared Hanson both had two singles and an RBI as the Ramblers beat the Rebels in Bethel in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.

Ben Allen pitched a complete game for Winthrop (2-0) allowing one run on two hits, while striking out six and walking one.

Telstar falls to 0-3.

Oak Hill 15, Carrabec 3, 6 innings: Parker Asselin drove in three runs and Ryan Riordan had a double and two RBIs to lead the Raiders to the MVC win in North Anson.

Brady Dion, Jacob Bannister and Dalton Burns each drove in runs for the Raiders (2-1).

Will Crawford singled, doubled and drove in a run to lead the Cobras (1-2). Branden Lehay had two singles.

Boys lacrosse

Gardiner 21, Mt. Blue 0: Keegan Smith had three goals and five assists to lead the Tigers to the Eastern B win in Farmington.

Dalton Sargent added four goals while Seth Wing had three goals and three assists for Gardiner (5-0-0). Tyler Jamison scored three goals and Josh Caldwell had two goals and two assists. Adrian Heath, Skylar McMillan, Walker Norton and Alex Nadeau each scored one goal. J.D. Crocker made two saves.

Mt. Blue falls to 0-4-0.
