2-car crash sends Dexter woman to hospital
WINTHROP — A Dexter woman was taken to the hospital Monday after her sport-utility vehicle was hit from behind on U.S. Route 202.
Michelle Myers, 43, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta after complaining of pain, said Officer Kenneth Tabor of the Winthrop police. Neither of the two adults in Myers’ 2005 Toyota Rav 4 was injured, nor was a 1-year-old child.
The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. as Myers slowed her car in traffic. Brenda Ouellette, 26, of Monmouth, who was following Myers east on U.S. 202 in her four-door 2006 Pontiac, didn’t stop in time and hit the Toyota from behind, Tabor said.
Ouellette and the 4- and 6-year-old children riding with her were uninjured.
Ouellette told police that traffic slowed more quickly than she had anticipated and she was unable to stop. The eastbound lane of U.S. 202 was closed briefly.
Ouellette’s Pontiac was towed away and the Rav 4 was driven away. There are no charges connected to the crash, police said.
