READFIELD — Nick Lacasse drove in a pair of runs and Zach Elwell pitched a complete game to lead the Maranacook baseball team past Nokomis 5-1 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Monday.

Elwell struck out four, walked one and allowed just five hits for the Black Bears (4-4). Kevin Johnson had a pair of singles.

Spencer Hartsgrove hit a leadoff home run to lead Nokomis (2-6).

Oak Hill 12, Boothbay 0: Brady Dion had a three-run triple to lead the Raiders to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Wales.

Parker Asselin added a two-run single and a sacrifice fly for Oak Hill (4-3). Asselin also earned the win. Ryan Riordan chipped in with a double.

Cole Barter had both hits for Boothbay (1-6).

Hampden 9, Messalonskee 2: Matt Martin pitched a complete game as the Broncos won the KVAC A game in Oakland.

Cooper Antone had two doubles and two singles for Hampden, which improves to 7-1. Logan Steward also doubled for the Broncos.

Messalonskee falls to 5-3.

Cony 12, Erskine 2, 5 innings: Zack Lachance, Thomas Foster and Chandler Shostak each had a double and a single as the Rams won the KVAC A game shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule in Augusta.

Ben Lucas added two singles for Cony, which improves to 6-2.

Josh Bailey had a double and a triple for Erskine (2-6).


Oak Hill 15, Boothbay 0, 5 innings: Kortni Michaud pitched a one-hitter and the Raiders belted 12 hits to earn the MVC win in Wales.

Jamie Prue hit a three-run home run in her second at-bat of the first inning for Oak Hill (5-2). Lauren Beganny had a double, two singles and four RBIs while Kayla Veilleux added a double, a single and two RBIs. Kelsey Collins and Michaud each chipped in with two singles.

Boothbay falls to 0-7.

Cony 12, Erskine 0, 6 innings: Winning pitcher Sonja Morse hit a pair of home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Arika Brochu had three hits and two RBIs for Cony (8-0) as wel. Alyssah Dennett had a pair of singles as well while. Morse struck out nine and allowed just two hits to improve to 5-0.

Alyssa Gartley and Phoebe Cram had the lone hits for Erskine (3-5).

Hall-Dale 9, St. Dominic 6, 8 innings: Becca Ackerson and Haley Houdlette each had a double and a single to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Auburn. Liv Benner also had a pair of hits for Hall-Dale (4-3) while Olivia Maynard earned the victory.

Kelly Pomerleau tripled to lead the Saints (1-6).

Messalonskee 10, Hampden 3: Kylee Knight had a bases-loaded double in a six-run fourth inning to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Natalie Hunt added a double and a single for Messalonskee (7-1) while Delaney Collier hit two singles. Kassi Michaud earned the going, coming on in relief in the third inning. Michaud struck out seven batters in three innings.

Hampden falls to 2-6.

Nokomis 7, Maranacook 1: Siera Fortin went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double to lead the Warriors in Readfield. Fortin scored three runs as well for Warriors (5-3).

Natasha Howard had a single, triple and scored two runs for Nokomis as well.

Maranacook dropped to 2-6.

Winthrop 9, Monmouth 8: Cat Ouellette tripled and Danielle Pease doubled to lead the Ramblers to the MVC win in Monmouth.

Ouellette went 2 for 5 with four RBIs.

Winthrop (4-2) scored two runs in the top of the seventh before Monmouth (2-4) rallied with a run of its own in the home half of the inning. Krissi Doughty pitched a complete game to earn the victory. She struck out four.

Kylie Kemp had a double and three RBIs to lead Monmouth.

Girls lacrosse

Gardiner 16, Morse 12: Ally Day had eight goals and Brooke Davis had six goals and three assists as the Tigers beat the Shipbuilders in a KVAC B game in Bath.

Rikki Bryant added four goals and an assist, while Nickyia Lovely added a goal and Julie Krouse added three assists for Gardiner (5-0). Maddy Cutler had 11 saves to earn the win.

Sophie Sreden and Ruth Nadeau each had three goals for Morse (2-3). Monica Frempong had two goals and Paige Martin had a goal and four assists.

Cony 9, Mt. Ararat 8: Haley Hanks scored with 46 seconds left in regulation to lift the Rams to the come-from-behind victory in Topsham. Mt. Ararat (3-3) led 8-7 late in the second half before Josie Lee tied it for Cony (4-2). Hayley Quirion assisted on the game-tying goal. Lee and Quirion each scored three goals to lead the Rams.

Katie Labbay and Carly Ramond each scored two goals to lead the Eagles.

Messalonskee 16, Lewiston 6: Sydney Gagne scored six goals to lead the visiting Eagles to the KVAC A win. Kristen Kern added four goals for Messalonskee (6-0).

Mikayla Turner scored three goals while Allyson Fisching and Natalie St. Pierre each had one. Lily Delisle had three assists. Izzy Skinner made five saves.

Kelsey Dumond had three goals for Lewiston (3-2) while Mariah Currier scored two. Sam Cote stopped 12 shots.

Boys lacrosse

Gardiner 24, Lincoln 1: Keegan Smith and Dalton Sargent each scored four goals to lead the host Tigers to the win. Josh Caldwell and Austin Moore added three goals apiece for Gardiner (7-0) while Tyler Jamison and Walker Norton had two apiece.

Josh Moore, Jake Truman, Alex Hinckley, Dalton Carmichael, Alex Nadeau and Adrian Heath scored one goal each for the Tigers. JD Crocker made seven saves.

Jonathan Riley scored for the Eagles (1-5). Asa Shadis made 17 saves.
