PALMYRA — The Maine Old Cemetery Association will hold its first 2013 program day and meeting on Saturday, May 18, at the Palmyra Community Center, 4 Madawaska Road off of Route 2.
Speakers include local historian Don Hill, who will present “A Walk Through Some Palmyra History via Historical Mural” at 9:15 a.m.; Ann Foss, president of the Palmyra Historical Society, will give a presentation about her self-designed comprehensive system for recording cemetery information at 9:45 a.m.; and Nat Foss, secretary of the Palmyra Historical Society, will give an illustrated overview of Palmyra cemeteries at 11:30 a.m.
The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. There will be exhibits and displays. In the afternoon, there will be a tour of some Palmyra cemeteries.
All are welcome. Registration costs $3 at the door. Lunch costs $7. Reservations for lunch should be made by Friday — call Ann Foss at 938-2947.
