ATHENS — The annual Trash-athon fundraiser is set for 12:30-2 p.m. Friday. The incorrect day was inadvertently published in Tuesday’s Morning Sentinel.
Children will collect pledges from neighbors and friends, then children and teachers will pick up roadside litter. Proceeds will benefit Athens Elementary School and Athens Recreation Department. Prizes have been donated by Walmart, Hannaford, Strand Cinema and Athens Corner Store.
Participants will get a reusable water bottle donated by Jim’s Pizza.
Volunteers are welcome. For more information, call Karen Corson at 654-3782.
