SANFORD — Sanford police say someone is passing counterfeit $50 bills in town and urged business owners to keep watch for them.
Police said in a news release that they had received several telephone calls Wednesday reporting the fake bills.
The department included in its news release a picture of one of the bills, which has the serial number GE35575088A.
Police ask that anyone who suspects they have received a counterfeit bill report it to police immediately.
